PBA postpones 3x3 second conference tentatively

LIKE its regular 5-on-5 games, the second conference of the PBA 3x3 Lakas Ng Tatlo has been temporarily postponed .

The standalone tournament was supposed to kick off its second edition last Jan. 8 had the league not put off the resumption of the Governors' Cup when the National Capital Region (NCR) was again placed under Alert Level 3 following the spike in COVID-19 cases after the holiday break.

Even scrimmages among the 13 teams had been put to a stop, and only individual training is allowed under the current situation.

But action in the three-a-side tournament will start two weeks once the Governors' Cup re-starts.

The break comes at a time when the 3x3 is coming off a successful launch of its inaugural six-leg meet, capped by its first ever grand finals won by Limited App.

Marcial had an assessment meeting with the PBA 3x3 team composed of Chairman Richard Bachmann, tournament director Joey Guanio, SBP 3x3 program director Ronnie Magsanoc, and Deputy Commissioner Eric Castro just before the conference break.

All of them were once in saying the maiden tournament received a warm reception from everybody including PBA fans.

At yun nga, may basbas sa Itaas," added the PBA chief. (RG)
