DESPITE falling short of back-to-back, Cavitex positioned itself as the new leader while Platinum Karaoke made the biggest climb in the PBA 3x3 Season 2 Third Conference after shining brightest in Leg 5.
The Braves, runners-up to Platinum last Sunday, wrested the driver's seat with 355 tour points to switch spots with erstwhile pacesetter TnT (350) following the Tropang Giga's bronze finish in the penultimate leg.
Barangay Ginebra, with 310, and Meralco, with 285, maintained their standings in the Top 4 with Platinum hot on the trail with 278.
Platinum jumped three places up to fifth while San Miguel Beer (234) moved one notch to sixth ahead of Pioneer Elastoseal (229) and J&T Express (201), which saw identical drops of two spots.
Purefoods (160) and Blackwater (141) stayed in the Magic 10 with Terrafirma (102) and NorthPort (95) still outside the cutoff line with one leg to go before the conference championship.

The 12 teams will continue the chase for the 10 tickets to the Grand Finals in this weekend's sixth and final leg set at Robinsons Place Manila.
