Ten equally-determined combatants led by top-ranked and three-leg toppers TnT Tropang Giga engage in a battle royale for top honors and its whopping P750,000 champion's purse.
TNT's Samboy de Leon, Lervin Flores, Almond Vosotros and Gryan Mendoza have gained outright entry into the quarterfinal phase along with No. 2 Meralco Bolts, No. 3 Purefoods TJ Titans and No. 4 San Miguel Beer.
Aside from the Legs 1, 3 and 4-winning Tropang Giga, the Bolts (Leg 2), the Titans (Leg 6) and the Beermen (Leg 5) were the other victors in the six legs prior to the conference championship.

The four await their Last-8 opponents from among No. 5 Cavitex Braves, No. 6 Platinum Karaoke, No. 7 Terrafirma, No. 8 Limitless, No. 9 Barangay Ginebra, and No. 10 Sista Super Sealers, who will play in an elimination phase beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Cavitex, Limitless and Ginebra dispute the two quarters slots at stake in Pool A while Platinum, Terrafirma and Sista contest the two on the line in Pool B.
If there's one big lesson learned from the Second Conference championship, it's that lower-ranked teams have a fighting chance against the seeded heavyweights.
In that competition, Pioneer and Sista came out of the elimination rounds to arrange a title duel won by the former. Even losing semifinalist Barangay Ginebra also climbed from pool play and ultimately beat second seed TNT for the bronze.
Also at stake in the one-day conference finale are P250,000 for the runner-up and P100,000 for the third placer. (OL)
