ANTIPOLO - Three-leg winner TnT, Leg 2 victor Meralco 3x3 and last week's third-placer San Miguel Beer cleared their paths to the PBA 3x3 Third Conference Leg 5 quarterfinals with smashing pool victories Saturday at Robinson's Place in Antipolo.
The Tropang Giga and the Bolts racked up back-to-back wins in Pool A to advance with a game to spare while the Beermen swept their three assignments in Pool C to move on to the knockout stages.
TnT's Almond Vosotros, Samboy de Leon, Gryan Mendoza and Rey Mark Acuno showed their endgame poise in hurdling past Sista Super Sealers, 21-19, and Zamboanga Valientes, 19-17, for a guaranteed Last-8 ticket.
Meralco's Joseph Sedurifa, Alfred Batino, Dexter Maiquez and debutant JJ Espanola matched TnT's 2-0 card and early qualification, also doing it at the expense of the Valientes, 21-15, and the Super Sealers, 21-9.
The two powerhouses will tangle Sunday morning to dispute Pool A No. 1 before going into the quarters.

For their part, SMB's Wendell Comboy, Jeff Manday, Ken Bono and Bam Gamalinda brought out the broom and disposed of Platinum Karaoke, 19-17, NorthPort, 22-12, and Master Sardines, 19-17, to take the top spot in Pool C.
Platinum and NorthPort, which are both victorious over Master, 17-15 and 21-16, respectively, will battle it out in Sunday's elims windup with a quarterfinal ticket on the line.
Barangay Ginebra and Terrafirma, meanwhile, put a lock on the two Final-8 seats in Pool B after taking turns beating Pioneer Pro Tibay, 13-10 and 19-14, respectively.
Limitless grabbed pole position in Pool D on the strength of its 18-15 verdict over Cavitex. The Braves are at 1-1, their win coming at the expense of Purefoods, 21-16. (OL)
