TNT maintains pole position, Platinum Karaoke moves up to 4th place

GUEST team Platinum Karaoke vaulted back into the Top 4 of the PBA 3x3 team standings after ruling Leg 4 of the Season 2 Second Conference last Sunday at Robinsons Malabon.

Platinum, which hit the winning tunes after four failed attempts at leg and conference titles and broke through with a 13-12 clincher over Cavitex, jacked up its overall card to 270 tour points to join TNT (330), the Braves (290) and J&T Express (270) in the Magic 4 with two legs remaining before the Grand Finals.

With 100 tour points won, the charges of coach Anton Altamirano moved up one spot as it bumped off Barangay Ginebra (230), which fell to fifth after placing seventh in the recent stop.

The first to fourth-ranked squads after six legs will get outright entry into the quarterfinal phase of the 10-team conference championship.

Despite finishing an unusually low fifth in Leg 4, the two-leg winners Tropang Giga maintained their hold of pole position. but second-running Cavitex managed to slice their 70-point lead down to 40 after getting the silver in the fourth leg.

Meanwhile, Meralco climbed one place to sixth overall with 153 points, switching places with Terrafirma 3x3 (126) as Blackwater (118) made the biggest jump of four spots after its best finish of fourth.

Purefoods skidded to ninth with a 109-point card as NorthPort (103) cracked the Grand Finals cutoff line of 10th from 12th..

Pioneer Elastoeal (100), which was previously at No. 9, plummeted to 11th ahead of struggling San Miguel Beer (93), which saw a two-position fall to 12th after finishing last in Leg 4.
