TERRAFIRMA 3x3 made a big statement at the start Leg 2 of the PBA 3x3 Lakas ng Tatlo Third Conference, claiming the scalp of Sista Super Sealers and Leg 1 winner TnT Saturday at Robinsons Place Las Pinas.
The Dyip quartet of Jeremiah Taladua, Jebb Bulawan, Shaq Alanes and Red Cachuela outsteadied the Super Sealers, 19-17, before dropping the upset axe on the back-to-back-seeking Tropang Giga, 21-17.
The Raymond Tiongco-coached crew put themselves in prime position to advance to the quarterfinals after placing ninth in the opening leg last week.
The Dyip seek to formalize their advance as Pool A topnotcher with Win No. 3 Sunday against NorthPort in the elims windup.
The Tropang Giga ran second with 1-1, their victory coming at the expense of the Batang Pier, 21-8. NorthPort later chalked up a W via a 17-10 verdict over Sista (0-2).

Purefoods matched Terrafirma's 2-0 start over in Pool C to get inside track in the quarterfinals chase in its group.
Titans Joseph Eriobu, Jed Mendoza, Jun Bonsubre and Val Acuna opened their bid with a 21-18 drubbing of Cavitex then followed it up with a 21-16 nipping of Master Sardines. The Fishing Champs are at 1-1 on the strength of their 18-16 shocker over Second Conference titlist Pioneer Pro Tibay, who later gained traction via an 18-17 win over Cavitex (0-2).
Barangay Ginebra, the Leg 1 runner-up, scored a come-from-behind 21-20 squeaker over First Conference champion Limitless App to show the way in Pool B.
The Appmasters bounced back with a 21-12 verdict over San Miguel Beer (0-1) for 1-1 overall.
Platinum Karaoke emerged victorious in the only completed game in Pool D, hammering a 21-13 beating of Zamboanga.

The Platinum cagers were gunning for their second victory against debuting Meralco 3x3 Saturday afternoon before the league called a halt to action due to technical problems on the flooring.
The Platinum-Meralco game, which was stopped at the 8:18 mark, will resume Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by two other Day 1 matches pitting NorthPort versus Terrafirma and Cavitex against Master.
The four pool games set for Day 2 will play immediately after with the knockout rounds blasting off next.
