SMB retains winning crew in bid for title repeat

SAN Miguel Beer retained the crew that won last week's fifth leg as the Beermen gun for back-to-back in the PBA 3x3 Third Conference's Leg 6 Saturday at Robinsons Place Manila.

Jeff Manday, the top scorer of the previous leg with 49 points, returns with Wendell Comboy, Ken Bono and Bam Gamalinda in trying to extend SMB's dominance in the last stage before the ultimate battle for conference honors.

The Boycie Zamar-coached Beermen compete in Pool A in the company of Barangay Ginebra, Limitless App, and struggling Second Conference titlist Pioneer Pro Tibay.

TnT, the conference's winningest team with three leg triumphs, reactivated Ping Exciminiano and Lervin Flores, who will join forces with Almond Vosotros and Samboy de Leon in the two-day campaign.

The Tropang Giga, who have already secured top seeding to the Grand Finals with a leg to spare, vie in Pool B with the Purefoods TJ Titans and the Zamboanga Valientes providing challenge.

Leg 4 fourth placer Terrafirma, which recalled Jebb Bulawan to team up with Jeremiah Taladua, Red Cachuela and Shaq Alanes, start its bid in Pool D versus Sista and Leg 2 victor Meralco, which is fielding returnee Tonino Gonzaga and fifth-leg holdovers Alfred Batino, Dexter Maiquez and Joseph Sedurifa.

The exciting sixth leg gives the 14 squads their last opportunity to crack the Final 10 for the culminating conference championship.
