J&T Express, TNT sweep way to quarterfinals

BACK-TO-BACK-seeking J&T Express quickly flexed its muscles and swept its way to the quarterfinals of the PBA 3x3 Season 2 Second Conference Leg 2 action Saturday at Robinsons Place Novaliches.

With Joseph Sedurifa gunning 13 big points, the Express eked out a 21-19 victory over Purefoods in an exciting shootout with the Titans' scoring dynamo Joseph Eriobu (11) to open its campaign in Pool A.

Sedurifa caught fire with a 10-piece later when Leg 2 winner J&T hit the halfcourt again as he and Jeric Teng, Keith Datu and Robin Rono clobbered Meralco 3x3, 21-12, to finish as the top quarterfinalist from their group.

Leg 1 ruler TNT, which settled for second in the second leg, started its return-to-the-top quest with a 2-0 shutout in Pool B.

The Tropang Giga edged Blackwater, 21-19, then shellacked Terrafirma 3x3, 21-10, for the B1 position.
Platinum Karaoke and Barangay Ginebra matched the spotless marks of the two previous leg winners in Pools C and D, respectively.
