Failed bid in PBA 3X3 2nd Conference Grand Finals an eye opener for SEA Games-bound Limitless App, says Brandon Ganuelas

LIMITLESS stalwart Brandon Ganuelas Rosser said the Appmasters' failed bid in the PBA 3x3 Second Conference Grand Finals should fire them up even more as they plunge into action in the Southeast Asian Games next month.

"We have a sour taste in the mouth (now) and we want to get back the glory that we had back before," Rosser said after the top-seeded and multi-leg-winning First Conference champions crashed out with a 16-14 quarterfinal loss to eventual winner Pioneer Pro Tibay Wednesday.

The responsibility gets bigger for Rosser and pals Marvin Hayes, Jorey Napoles and Reymar Caduyac as they play for flag and country in the May 12 to 23 SEAG with the sole intent of retaining the men's 3x3 gold medal.

"The Philippines are the defending champions and that's the torch we have to carry there. We're excited for this opportunity. I'm excited as well to represent the country for the first time," said Rosser.

The Willie Wilson coached-squad would have wanted to get a fitting sendoff in Conference 2 before flying to Hanoi. But the Pro Tibay played the role of big spoilers while orchestrating their own climb to the top.

"It's disappointing, After the (fire-caused) delay, we had a really good week of practice so it's kinda perplexing that we came out there and didn't play our best. But hat's off to Pioneer, they're a good team, they're a scrappy bunch and they got us today," said Rosser.

The 6-foot-7 Fil-Am said the woeful finish shouldn't diminish the team's accomplishments all tournament long.

"If you look at the whole conference, we got the No. 1 seed. We're the most consistent team and besides Leg 6, we made it to the semis of every leg," he said.

"You don't want to lose but I think an eye-opener is okay," he added.

Rosser is bidding the PBA 3x3 goodbye, though, as he is making the leap to 5-on-5 play in the coming PBA Rookie Draft on May 15. (OL)
