Aurin grabs lead in race for scoring honors

KIM Aurin of newly-minted leg winner Barangay Ginebra holds pole position in the race for top scoring honors in the PBA 3x3 Season 2 Third Conference.

Aurin, who played a key role in the Gin Kings' breakthrough triumph in Leg 3 last Friday, piled up 94 points in 13 games to set the pace after three legs.

J&T Express ace Joseph Sedurifa (88) and Meralco's Alfred Batino (84) followed closely at Nos. 2 and 3 while Aurin's teammate Ralph Cu sits at fourth overall with 75.

Not so far behind Cu is scoring dynamo Almond Vosotros of TNT, who ranks fifth with 72 despite playing one leg less than the leaders. In only eight matches, Vosotros also already accounted for most two-point shots made with 28.

Cu emerged as the top assists man so far with a 40 feeds total while figuring prominently in the rebounding and steals categories.

Cu's eight steals are good for third-best behind pacesetter TH Tumalip of Leg 2 runner-up Platinum Karaoke (9) and No. 2 Ken Mocon of Pioneer Elastoseal (9).

Cavitex's Jorey Napoles, who runs third in rebounding with 63, holds sway in shot blocks with 12 ahead of Platinum's Yutien Andrada (9), and Tumalip (8). (OL)
